Was I This Bad?

As my kids get older I have to keep reminding myself that I was once their age.  My ten tear old sits at his desk daily, deconstructing his Nerf guns and ‘modding’ them using You Tube tutorials.  When I was his age I would just take random things apart with no intention of achieving anything.  As much as I try to see the positive in it, it all comes down to him destroying things and hey what else is a ten-year old non child prodigy supposed to do?

I told my wife last night that we should be taking more candid pictures of the kids at these ‘activities’ so that we can show them later when they have kids of their own.  the only example I can think of that I have is a picture of myself at age ten or so manically clutching the newest high-tech hand-held video game.  It was some second-rate LED version of Pac-Man, but I didn’t put it down for weeks.  I was good, I mean I got to the point where I could complete several levels using only muscle memory and still have a conversation with you…and make eye contact.  Yeah lets see these kids do THAT!

LOL!! Things were so different back then and not to date myself, even MORE different when I was 10. Yeah, really, go take pictures. They’re the best time capsule you can have! They’ll crack up in 30 years when they see them. Then show them to THEIR kids.
